It was January 31, 2020, when the staff and the students of Don Bosco Tech Society (Dungarpur) gathered together to commemorate the death of ‘Father and Friend of Youth’, St. John Bosco. The day was filled with lively music, dance, extempore speech, and quiz competition based on the life of Don Bosco.

The day began with cleaning the surrounding. This was followed by decorating the place of flowers, color papers, and ribbons, colors, and glittering lights.

The celebration began with the reading of excerpts from the life sketch of Don Bosco as part of the competition. One of the trainees read, “Don Bosco dedicated his life long for the betterment and education of street children, juvenile delinquents, and other disadvantaged youth. His teaching methods focused on love instead of punishment and placing his students in surroundings removed from the likelihood of sinning.”    

Another trainee read, “A follower of the spirituality and philosophy of Saint Francis de Sales. St. John Bosco dedicated his works to Saint Francis de Sales when he founded the Salesians of Don Bosco. He is the Patron Saint of boys, Editors, and the Youth.”

The serious part of the celebration ended with live music, dance, extempore speech, and quiz competition.

It was a great experience for all was concluded with snacks sponsored by the trainers.
